Langlade County Humane Society

Here at the Langlade County Humane Society we are a non-profit organization that relies mostly on the public for funding.  Almost everyday we are brought a new resident to our building.  Be it a lost pet, a stray, or a surrender, we have to be able to pay for the things those animals need to live a healthy, comfortable life while they are with us.  Therefore we require redemption and surrender fees to be paid. 

Redemption Fees

When your dog or cat is brought in as a stray animal we are required to medicate this animal for its own good, give it a place to sleep and food to eat.  This all cost money.  In return there is a small fee to redeem your animal if we have given any needed attention. 

First Day-$15.00

Each additional day-$5.00

Rabies Vaccination Fee-$27.00 (only if animal is not up-to-date with rabies vacc. which is required for dogs & cats over 4 months old)

Langlade County Dog Licese Fee-Altered Dog-$3.00     Unaltered Dog-$8.00

Owners are allowed to adopt their own dog or cat if the cost of adoption would be less than the cost of redemption.  This is only an option if owner is willing to sign spay/neuter contract. 

Surrender Fees

In basically the same idea as redemption fees, surrender fees are just a way to help us ensure we have the funds to properly house, feed and take care of our animals.

Dog, Cat,  or Litter of puppies or kittens from Langlade County-Fees:$40.00 if there is no proof of vaccinations. $25.00 if there is verifiable proof.        

Dog, Cat, or Litter of puppies or kittens from other counties-FEE: $50.00

NOTE: IF THE PERSON IS FROM OUTSIDE LANGLADE COUNTY, our shelter will phone the shelter in the county where the person is from.  If their own county shelter will accept the animal(s), our shelter will not accept the animal(s).
